Weekly Topic #6: Been Down For A while

Sorry for not posting the last week, but things haven’t been going the way I expected, but eh, when life gets ya down, you get back up. While you’d think I was depressed, in a way you’re right, however it wasn’t what you might expect.

Growing up, when I first got an electric wheelchair, it had breakdowns, like anything, but footrests were a major break point. It seemed like every week they’d break under the pressure I’d put on them, having my mom to meet with the company Rep. who blamed me of being to rough with the chair. The issue persisted until we went to a family friend, & he said the steel was so low grade that anything would break em. He rebuilt them, using thicker steel, and I never broke those again!

Now to the present. When stressed, mad or whatever, my legs, (mostly my right) will push on the footrest, breaking it. This was what happen last week, the day after my chair repair person was in town. Oh, I called him and told him of the break, but it happened right when I didn’t want it too. So from last Thursday to yesterday, I couldn’t balance myself, had to prop my foot up on a cloths basket, which made using the computer and gaming less than fun.

If the guy who rebuilt the first set of footrests was still around, I’d ask him if he’d redo these, because I’ve broken at least fifteen to twenty steel bolts and two braces. Yes, I’ve kept track!

Cleaning The Mind Topic #5: Anime Review: Martian Successor Nadesico

For the last few weeks, the nights were spent binge watching some anime greats, (In my opinion, at least), that I bought in August. First, the “Complete series” of Full Metal Panic was viewed and enjoyed! Sure, it’s a few years old now, but still good, and should be on a anime watcher’s list! 🙂 After that series was watched, I can’t remember if I took a break before watching the next series.

I jumped into Martian Successor Nadesisco that week, and though I owned some of this on video back in 2001? it felt good to watch the complete series in subtitled form without twitching, and it is funnier with the Japanese cast. As I watched it, I laughed at the same parts I did back then, and watching Nadesico subbed, the series made more sense to me.

Nadesico: The Motion Picture however, well hurt my brain. Seriously, my mind shorted out for a while after watching it, and I STILL don’t get parts of it, so I will not try giving a summary, but I’ll say watch it. The OVA? I killed it, (watched it) last week and it seemed cool. All it was, was the anime Akito was watching in the Nadesico TV series, which was a nice touch!

Now, since I love the M.S. Nadesico series from 2001 until today, I gotthe idea to create one of the characters, (seen below), but afraid I may goof up, my friend Rave_TheAssassin helped a lot, and to him, I give a huge THANK YOU!

Ruri

What we did was create Ruri Hoshino fro, this picture here. He created her then gave me the formula to create her on my system. Must say, she looks soot on, of course I tweaked the voice to get it similar to how she sounds in the anime. After watching the video below, you be the judge.

Cleaning The Mind Topic #4: R/C Truck Stuff

Sorry for being a day late with this, but I was to dead tired to write anything yesterday. With that said, let’s start! As some may have read that I’ve wanted to add upgrades to my 2WD Traxxas Stampede all Summer, but only managed to get the front RPM bumper and A-Arms put on, because I didn’t wanna go to long without my baby! 🙂

And before going further, let me sau that the truck is pretty good bone stock! I’ve put it through hell & it didn’t break at all. Sure, minor issues, like the motor moving away from the gears, the esc got deprogrammed happened, but it was fixed easily enough, & nothing broke on the truck!

Now that he RC season’s pretty much done for me at least, because I don’t dig going out in the Fall winds, Winter snow to run a R/C, I’ve had my truck taken in to the hobby shop to get overhauled over the Winter. What will be done to it? Basically everything!

Gonna have the shop complete the blue RPM upgrades, getting a Castle Creations brushless system put in, Pro-Line Trencher tires, a new transmitter/receiver, (old one has seen better days). A stronger spur gear will be added, along with body clip holders, because, no matter how hard I try, they get lost when out ripping it up!. I’m getting two new hump battery packs and body clips!

By next spring, my Stampede will be styling & able to go 40mph! Two items that worry me though: At that speed, I hope I’m able to handle it, and hope the cops don’t pull me over! 😛
