First Anime Review Of 2016: Elfen Lied

In 2004-2005, the anime club I was apart of screened this anime at one of their monthly showings. Tell ya, within  the first five minutes, limbs were torn off, bodies ripped apart and heads were taken off, blowing my mind, having me saying “Heheh Cool!” On that alone, I knew it would be good.

For those who haven’t seen it, I’ll try not to spoil it, but here’s my review, in a nutshell. A seventeen year old woman with psychic hands,  (called vectors) escapes from a facility, only to get sniped, but the gunshot doesn’t kill her, it splits her personality into two. Lucy, the murderous side has a quick temper, & uses her power to kill, but in the course of the series, you get a feel how she got that way, even care for what she went through. Then there’s Nyu, the innocent side, that starts out “child like”, but learns as she goes.

Could go on about the plot, but I do not wanna spoil it for those who haven’t seen this yet.

So, if you’ve seen this anime, what are your thoughts on it?
