Personal Blog For May 2017

New month, time to clean out my head, so let me get into it, but at the end a cherry will top this off & I’d like to share it with ya.

To kick this off, I’ve been adopting new techniques of writing dialogue into my stories for three days and like it. In fact the next story I post has some of the new element in, so look out! πŸ™‚ However, and this may sound lame, but it isn’t easy to merge old and new, having em look like they work ya know? That said, I am adapting to change.

In other news, some of you knowΒ  one of my R/C trucks was stolen last week when I was out with it and though I’ve come to terms, this made me think about not taking my Stampede out anymore. Oh, it might be worry making me think that I know that, but it’s there. In a week, it may fade, not sure, for now though… The hobby isn’t dead in me, not by any means, I’ve decided to get the e maxx’s replacement, (a much cheaper in price truck), cause when I DO go mack out, I don’t see risking another $500+ R/C to be a target.

On the Elfien Lied front, I’m still trying to guess why my computer’s viewing software wants to play random episodes and not the disc in order. Its in a mode I’m sure, just need to sit down to figure it out. In any case, weather I figure it out or not, the series will be rewatched this weekend and a review will be up the following week! πŸ™‚

Lastly,Β  computer news and the cherry I promised. Another gamepad I bought a year ago has developed a short in the wire. I’ve taken care of it, but it might just be wear and normal use doing it, so my plan? Order two Wednesday and if one starts shorting, I’ll have a backup. Good plan? Would go with Logitech’s wireless pad, but heard that fails to connect on install. There’s a patch I COULD download, but if it won’t work, the gamepad will be a paperweight.

Okay, now the cherry. Since moving back to PC gaming from consoles, me moods have been better, added a few more friends on my steam list and even posted in forums there. And for the most part, I keep my head down, I’ve been cool when helping people etc. However one post had me almost lose my cool, but I managed to reply in a decent & somewhat funny way. while giving fact.

This user kept posting, whining that Tekken 7’s playerbase on PC will stink without crossplay and he/she isn’t too sure about buying it on steam. Well after the eighth post, I had enough and said my piece, which their post with my reply is below, let me know what you guys think.

The lack of crossplay really makes me think about not putting the money towards the PC version. I am interessted in playing ranked tekken online and if the PC versions community is small, then where’s the point? All the good players will be over at the PS4. For serious players the PC version seems to be a really poor deal at the moment.

Crossplay crossplay crossplay, I’m sure everyone agrees with me when I say we are tired of you beating a dead horse! If you THINK the PC playerbase is gonna be small, well it is your opinion, an incorrect one, but whatever. We however have a group to play the game, and I’m sure people will be coming once the game unlocks in 4 weeks. If your not gonna buy tekken for PC, DON’T BUY IT! Moaning about it not having crossplay only makes you look like you are, a whiny lil fool!

Drove My R/C Trucks Yesterday

Well the weather stopped being stupid long enough yesterday to allow me to go running for the first time this season. Aside from the E-MAXX, (picture below) having a set of weak packs and it almost made me fall off the darn porch, it was fun being outdoors again.

After getting in, some daylight was left, so I charged my 2WD Stampede, A.K.A Baby & headed back out! πŸ™‚ It must be known that being caught up in the new truck, the power and speed it has, because as the truck took off, the kid in me LOVED it! Even on a three year old battery pack, this little puppy has some pep, so much that a stone hit my eye lol. Sure not regretting having a brushless system put in last season, tell ya that much!

This weekend it might be nice, so both trucks might be run, but the Stampede will for sure! I love that little pitbull of a truck. πŸ™‚

Pros And Cons Of The E-Maxx & 2WD Stampede!

Sitting in front of the computer last night doing I forget what, the idea came to write this post in Open Office Writer, then paste it here, but nah that’s less my style than drinking beer in a cup. Instead of doing that, I’ve decided to do this live, no pre-written post, so please stay with me.

A few years ago after moving here, the fire burned in me to get back into Radio Controlled cars or trucks, thus research started. My first choice was the 1/16th Slash, (not above) & whileΒ  it was 4wd and and quick, the choices for upgrades were sorely limited, having me sell it for baby, (above). I had this same model before, so it seemed like the right choice, which it WAS! πŸ™‚ The first season I had the truck, it was put through my tests and hardly got damaged! Last season the Stampede was upgraded all the way round to stronger parts and brushless power, making baby fast as sin.

For my birthday last month the E-Maxx was paid off and brought home, much to my nephew’s girlfriend’s negative words, but whatever. I took it out of the box and looked at it, putting the adaptions our local hobby shop made. Looking at the monster, it became clear this truck should be fun as soon as the warm weather hits! There are pros and cons to both R/Cs and in this post I’ll address them, so let us begin! πŸ™‚

Venom Sideview 2

My Stampede I’m highly impressed with and I want to start with it.

pede 2016

  1. Both the truck and the controller fit in my lap and chair for easy carrying. Really it is easy to take this bad boy where ever I wanna run!
  2. The speed and power baby has makes my time outside so much fun. Aside from random people asking if my family knows I’m outside by myself, I have fun running the truck.
  3. Very low maintenance. I have not had any serious damage to the R/C. One stripped servo and loose screws are it, but nothing more.

  1. When changing packs, clips for the battery tie down can be lost in grass easily.
  2. The body posts in the front don’t come through the hole quite right, I can get the clips in, but its weird.

Now the E-Maxx.Though I have not really put this through tests yet due to Winter weather and me don’t mix, I have ran it one time some weeks ago.Yes, that is the same transmitter that the Stampede uses. The people at the hobby shop bound the truck to it so I can use one controller for both trucks. And like baby, there are things I like and don’t like about this beast! πŸ™‚

  1. Body fit. The body posts do come through the holes, letting the clips go in the way they should, which is good.
  2. The battery tie downs don’t need clips, (see pics below).

I really like this idea because it saves me time & no clips go missing outside!

3. 4WD, meaning the truck shouldn’t have trouble in grass, not like I had issues with baby, but tall grass gave him issues.

  1. Let’s talk about the major con here, the E-Maxx needs two packs to work! Okay, duel motors need two packs, I get it. However, charging two battery packs will cut in on day light come spring. I might have it so it can run on a single brushless motor.

Final thought:

I like both my pede and E-Maxx, really do, but I see baby being run more, unless I can charge the two packs so it will not cut down daytime.

New Members Of The Anime & R/C Family!

Might spam posts for the next two or three days because on the tenth, I won’t be doin too much, it is my mother’s birthday. True, though she is in a better place now, I still wanna remember her, but with that said, on with the post. A lot of good happened over the weekend that I would like to share, so strap in, grab popcorn and get ready! πŸ™‚

As reported Friday/Saturday, Trigun: the complete series would be here that Sunday, and well, it came, with the AA batteries for the item you’ll see a few pics of below. The first DVD with seven eps was enjoyed last night & it brought back memories of when my adopted family introduced me to it, which I liked. Planning on watching the second disc tonight over dinner and loving it! πŸ™‚ Once I watch all four DVDS, the plan is to write a review of the series and post it here.

Though the hobby shop forgot to send the most important piece home, (my controller I use for both this r/c and baby), guess you can say my birthday came Sunday! πŸ™‚ Meet the newest member of my collection of R/C trucks, the E-MAXX! The thing is huge, it’s heavy too that I have to work lifting it a small bit! With this one, I had them make the extended plugs as I did with my Stampede, (see below), but they gave me two battery packs for it, which two are due here Friday or next week. Eh, more for baby to increase his run time heh! πŸ™‚ I will run this thing next season to see how it handles, but with the convention and computer upgrades I would like to save for, this E-Maxx may not get loved like baby and get the blue upgrades. That isn’t saying small additions won’t be done, when tires and body are needed, I’ll get some, other than that, no.

Two shots with the body off, and hopefully you guys/gels see that this truck’s beefy! When I opened it, it made sense why it is heavy, but it takes two packs to run the thing, which I’m hoping it is fast with the twin motors, we will see. Can you see the extension plug? The shop made one for both sides and though my nephew thinks they would be a hassle, the short plugs are to hard for me to unplug, so I put em on. Sure, they stick out a little by the back tires, but with time and memory, the extensions will lay down!

Upgraded Stampede: End Of Summer Impressions

pede 2016

With the R/C season closing, (because driving in freezing cold ain’t my deal) thought I’d give my impressions on the truck now that I’ve ran it for the season with the upgrades. Let me say right now that Baby’s a quick beast with pep! Many days were spent driving and just loving the truck, besides people asking if I was okay, which they can see I was fine, but wanna be in my business anyway.

Venom Sideview 1

The truck was put through HELL this year, kissing curbs at top speed, forced under my nephew’s truck etc. & wanted more! Truthfully, there were crashes where I thought it would be damaged for sure, but after looking it over, to my surprise, there wasn’t any! πŸ™‚ My little Stampede proofed that it’s bad to the bone, which makes me grin.

All that really cost me down time were loose or lost screws but they were very minor annoyances! πŸ™‚

A Short Video Of….

pede 2016

As of late, (two weeks) I’ve been trying hard to get use to my phone. And while the touchscreen scares me due to accidentally doing crap when I go to add contacts, I’m getting a bit better, (more on that another time). Though it took awhile to get my nephew to help, below is a video of Project Venom Ruling the yard!!!

Yes, that is me, shadowlight himself at da wheel, err stick! Tell ya, with the speed it has now, IF I look away for a second, the truck will crash into stuff, Sorry for the quality, don’t think he adjusted the settings.

The Long Wait Is OVER!!!! :)

For those who have been waiting for this, let me say sorry it took until Mid Summer to get this done. Now that’s said, last year my 2WD Stampede was taken in for upgrades, & well, below are two videos of what he looks like now. πŸ™‚ In the first video, I took the top off and show what was done. If ya can’t hear me talking due to my speech, please read the credits at the end of the first vid. πŸ™‚

The second video below just shows the 1920-50s body I had the hobby shop paint and the clip holders I slapped on, because hated losing clips. Also, the shop installed a Tactic TTX403 Receiver and Transmitter, which is in the shot. πŸ˜› True, it’s meant for planes, but eh!

I hope to get running videos up sometime!
