Due to an interesting exchange with one of my followers on my topic about preorders and game reviews HERE, thought I may add to that. In my gaming life, only two games were preordered, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, (I know that shows my age, but) & Resistance 3 for the PS3 in 2011. While I will not speak MK Trilogy, being a fine game for what it was before consoles went online, Resistance 3 will not get the same treatment.
For those who don’t know, the first Resistance was my gateway to other shooters, but the only one offering Custom button mapping, which I need being one handed. At first I wasn’t great at all, I’m not gonna say I was a god at it, but as time went by, my skill got better. Oh, there were parts I’d die on, but it was due to me screwing up.
Now 2011, Resistance 3 was brought home, popped in, making my custom button layout, which was not as good as 1 and 2, but passable. The campaign was started and played, dropping you right into thick battle, a plus. Health packs made a return, which for me was a plus and fault, but I might be off point. To me, the game felt rushed as sin, with bad color choices, character designs and graphics that looked….. Once you completed it, the ending wasn’t anything that felt like you put hours into and got any reward. That is why I will not plop down money for a game without reading some reviews or better yet, see what Steam users say.
That said, at a point, (not day 1), Tekken 7 for PC will be bought. However, reserving it just for the extra fighter seems like a waste, but that’s me. If they offer clothing as DLC, it will not be bought due to what I told my follower the other day, companies nickel and dime you to death over extra content and back in the day the base game kept me content.
Tomorrow I’ll talk about which fighter I’ll try to use and why.
