Personal Blog For Aug/Sept. 2021

So a lot of stuff has been going on that I’ve been sorting out in my own way, (mostly r/cing) that I didn’t feel like blogging it. but here goes!.

For those who have stuck with my blog, you’ve seen this R/C before, & know I’ve built it up into a bulletproof beast. Well, being dumb, I gave it away last year to someone I thought was a friend, but he gave it back to me a few weeks ago totaled. Seriously, it is a mess with a cracked chassis, split body, bent body post and the transmitter is fried!

He swore he never driven it, though how did it get that damaged if he never ran it? I never run my R/Cs until they looked like the mess that’s under my bed! So, now I think I might rebuild it, but take the esc/motor off, rpm parts etc usable off it and turn it into a green stock truck, flipping it after!

For the last few days, I’ve been watching Date Alive on Crunchyroll, & in a few weeks I’ll signup for a subscription! 🙂 I like the service for having newest and old Anime, though when our wifi goes to sh*t it can get on my nerves! Even though I’m a die-hard collector of anime dvds and Blu-ray I like how Crunchyroll’s set up.

What do you all think?

In other topics… My writing has improved so much that I lay out scenes, character motives and feelings better than before, and am enjoying myself. The things I’m studying do seem to be helping me some that I’m thinking about posting the story I’ve been poking for two years on AO3 as soon as it’s done! 🙂

Personal Blog For August: Buckling Down In Writing…

SAO A.

August, the butt end of Summer, and I have changes to discuss in this post. First, the Anime front. Gotta question for ya all. I’ve watched SAO: Alicization up until Kirato and Alice were scaling the wall of (uhh), then I moved. A few months from now, I’ll be able to get an anime hall, and more. Is SAO Alicization worth buying on dvd/Blu-Ray?

With that, I want to get some of my fan made stories or my Original work made into manga and doujinshi. I WILL NOT sell any, I just want them made into manga and doujin. There was an artist who drew my vampire cat girl, but she won’t do adult work, and I’m not one to push. Do any of you followers/readers know anyone on deviant art or Paintrist?

F150 Raptor Stampede 2017

In more news. I took my R/C you see above in to get checked. The truck was acting up, going wild, so it’s getting a new receiver put in and a shake down. Should’ve had it looked at during the season, but my ass of a nephew, but ah…

The new car I bought runs great! 🙂 I have a good blast running, jumping it! In Sept. that one’s heading to the hobby shop to get the same TLC my stampede got! Brushless power, gotta love it!!!

Personal Blog For September 2018!

Had no intention on posting my monthly personal post a few days late, but computer issues cropped up in the past week that had me wanna push this off my desk, so let us begin there.

Gaming PC 1

Lately on boot up, my gaming/workhorse PC above gets past the windows screen & locks up before getting to the windows login screen, forcing me to flip the switch on the PSU. After I do, it boots fine. If it asks to restart after a driver update, it won’t freeze, but shut the thing down for the night and boom, the computer will lockup on boot the next day! I’ve scanned for any malware/virus that could be causing this, coming up empty so it might be windows ten, but Wednesday the issue got to me.

When it froze Wednesday, my usual step was taken, only a CMOS prompt showed up then would go no further. This went on, having me go into the bios and try everything with zero luck, depressing me. No really, I know hate is a strong word, but I’m getting to where I hate screwing with this thing! Late that night, going into the bios again was retried, and finding that the boot sequence was screwy, so on a guess, I switched and saved the change. It booted to windows, thank the gods.

Last night, Microsuck updated 10, (an update that took half the goddamn night and finally reinstalled windows at 4am)! Windows 10 hasn’t been loved by me since they forced the second major update, a update that makes my tower restart without warning!! Next month is going to be spent shopping for computer parts to overhaul this thing, and if I run across windows 7, I’m going to go back to it!

F150 Raptor Stampede 2017

In other news, it has been raining a lot and when it hasn’t, the lawn looks like a freaking jungle, so running Baby has not been a good idea. The last few runs, the R/C ran like a champ! I wanna get up to the hobby shop before the Fall temps and grab another battery pack! 🙂

Finally: Some good anime related topics will be put up for discussion, one in a day or so.

Pros And Cons Of The E-Maxx & 2WD Stampede!

Sitting in front of the computer last night doing I forget what, the idea came to write this post in Open Office Writer, then paste it here, but nah that’s less my style than drinking beer in a cup. Instead of doing that, I’ve decided to do this live, no pre-written post, so please stay with me.

pede 2016

A few years ago after moving here, the fire burned in me to get back into Radio Controlled cars or trucks, thus research started. My first choice was the 1/16th Slash, (not above) & while  it was 4wd and and quick, the choices for upgrades were sorely limited, having me sell it for baby, (above). I had this same model before, so it seemed like the right choice, which it WAS! 🙂 The first season I had the truck, it was put through my tests and hardly got damaged! Last season the Stampede was upgraded all the way round to stronger parts and brushless power, making baby fast as sin.

For my birthday last month the E-Maxx was paid off and brought home, much to my nephew’s girlfriend’s negative words, but whatever. I took it out of the box and looked at it, putting the adaptions our local hobby shop made. Looking at the monster, it became clear this truck should be fun as soon as the warm weather hits! There are pros and cons to both R/Cs and in this post I’ll address them, so let us begin! 🙂

Venom Sideview 2

My Stampede I’m highly impressed with and I want to start with it.

pede 2016

PROS:

  1. Both the truck and the controller fit in my lap and chair for easy carrying. Really it is easy to take this bad boy where ever I wanna run!
  2. The speed and power baby has makes my time outside so much fun. Aside from random people asking if my family knows I’m outside by myself, I have fun running the truck.
  3. Very low maintenance. I have not had any serious damage to the R/C. One stripped servo and loose screws are it, but nothing more.

CONS:

  1. When changing packs, clips for the battery tie down can be lost in grass easily.
  2. The body posts in the front don’t come through the hole quite right, I can get the clips in, but its weird.

e-maxx-with-controller

Now the E-Maxx.Though I have not really put this through tests yet due to Winter weather and me don’t mix, I have ran it one time some weeks ago.Yes, that is the same transmitter that the Stampede uses. The people at the hobby shop bound the truck to it so I can use one controller for both trucks. And like baby, there are things I like and don’t like about this beast! 🙂

PROS:

  1. Body fit. The body posts do come through the holes, letting the clips go in the way they should, which is good.
  2. The battery tie downs don’t need clips, (see pics below).

I really like this idea because it saves me time & no clips go missing outside!

3. 4WD, meaning the truck shouldn’t have trouble in grass, not like I had issues with baby, but tall grass gave him issues.

CONS:

  1. Let’s talk about the major con here, the E-Maxx needs two packs to work! Okay, duel motors need two packs, I get it. However, charging two battery packs will cut in on day light come spring. I might have it so it can run on a single brushless motor.

Final thought:

I like both my pede and E-Maxx, really do, but I see baby being run more, unless I can charge the two packs so it will not cut down daytime.

New Members Of The Anime & R/C Family!

Might spam posts for the next two or three days because on the tenth, I won’t be doin too much, it is my mother’s birthday. True, though she is in a better place now, I still wanna remember her, but with that said, on with the post. A lot of good happened over the weekend that I would like to share, so strap in, grab popcorn and get ready! 🙂

trigun

As reported Friday/Saturday, Trigun: the complete series would be here that Sunday, and well, it came, with the AA batteries for the item you’ll see a few pics of below. The first DVD with seven eps was enjoyed last night & it brought back memories of when my adopted family introduced me to it, which I liked. Planning on watching the second disc tonight over dinner and loving it! 🙂 Once I watch all four DVDS, the plan is to write a review of the series and post it here.

my-emaxx-1

Though the hobby shop forgot to send the most important piece home, (my controller I use for both this r/c and baby), guess you can say my birthday came Sunday! 🙂 Meet the newest member of my collection of R/C trucks, the E-MAXX! The thing is huge, it’s heavy too that I have to work lifting it a small bit! With this one, I had them make the extended plugs as I did with my Stampede, (see below), but they gave me two battery packs for it, which two are due here Friday or next week. Eh, more for baby to increase his run time heh! 🙂 I will run this thing next season to see how it handles, but with the convention and computer upgrades I would like to save for, this E-Maxx may not get loved like baby and get the blue upgrades. That isn’t saying small additions won’t be done, when tires and body are needed, I’ll get some, other than that, no.

my-emaxx-4

Two shots with the body off, and hopefully you guys/gels see that this truck’s beefy! When I opened it, it made sense why it is heavy, but it takes two packs to run the thing, which I’m hoping it is fast with the twin motors, we will see. Can you see the extension plug? The shop made one for both sides and though my nephew thinks they would be a hassle, the short plugs are to hard for me to unplug, so I put em on. Sure, they stick out a little by the back tires, but with time and memory, the extensions will lay down!

The Plan For The New Addition…When It’s paid Off!

Emaxx 1

Even though the new truck’s still in layaway, it does not mean I can’t plan on what to do once I get it home! Been watching you tube videos on what people upgraded on their E Maxx, debated, even read forum posts, but at the end of the day, the only people who know me and that I trust are the people at the local hobby shop. Read on for the plan. 🙂

Unlike baby, the new truck won’t get money poured into it, because well, the thing is beefier than baby and baby will always be my baby! 😛 So what will I do to the E Maxx? Well, according to Cameron, the bulk Heads are a weakness, so they will go in time, but other upgrades. I do not think the truck needs much, I may have him do away with the duel motor setup and put a single brushless motor/esc on, due to the two battery it needs to run might be a pain!

Like baby, it WILL have the body clip holders and a handle, but nothing else!
